Once you combine fabulous drag with day drinking and food, you now have an event for the ages. Yet, drag brunch is more than just a feast for the senses; it's also a culinary adventure with the different types of foods most locations have. The brunch menus are often carefully curated to reflect the city's diverse food culture. From classic eggs benedict with a twist to avant-garde creations that push the boundaries of traditional brunch fare, the culinary offerings mirror the creativity and vibrancy of the performances themselves.

In vibrant tropical prints and flamingo sunglasses, with stacks of dollar bills at the ready, the women are jubilant. General Admission tickets are $25, with doors opening at 9pm – 2am. Starting in March 2023, the restaurant began posting a series of advertisements on social media that included images of protesters holding digitally altered signs promoting the restaurant's drag events and food specials. Purchasing the dinner or brunch add-on ticket is not mandatory to attend the show, you can just purchase your admission ticket type and gain entry. However, the add-on dinner or brunch ticket will be the only food available, and no food will be available for purchase unless added in advance with admission tickets.

There will also be a DIY photo wall, Pride themed-food and beverage specials, and a live screen-printing popup where you can purchase a commemorative Pride tee or tote. Drag performances have become increasingly popular over the years, with numerous talented performers and vibrant drag scenes throughout the city. From weekly shows at local bars to larger performances at venues like Ovens Auditorium and Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, there's something for everyone who loves drag entertainment in Charlotte. I went to The Artisan’s Palate to wrap my aching head around the phenomenon (in true method-actor fashion, I showed up to brunch hungover). In a Queen of Hearts ensemble, Ava Gemini (above) performs to “Off with Their Heads,” a number from the Broadway musical Wonderland.
